How to create a Custom Audience

To create a Custom Audience follow these steps:

Go to Facebook Ads Manager and select the menu on the top left-hand side of the screen.


In the drop-down menu select Audiences from the "Assets" section.


Select the Custom Audience option from the Create Audience dropdown menu.


Select the source for your new Custom Audience.
We are using "Website" in this example

Select your Facebook Pixel, the type of Custom Audience you would like to create, and give it a name.

Example: You could create a Custom Audience to target people who have visited your website in the past 180 days.


The Custom Audience you have created will appear in the "Audiences" dashboard.


How to add your Custom Audience to a campaign

To add your newly created Custom Audience to a campaign follow these steps:

Go to Facebook Ads Manager, and at the Ad Sets level of your campaign, select the Ad Set you would like to add your Custom Audience to and then click the Edit button.

Alternatively, you can create a brand new Ad Set.


An edit window will open from the right-hand side allowing you to change the name of your Ad Set to match your new Custom Audience. Then scroll down to the "Audience" section.


In the “Audience” section, you can search the Custom Audiences field for the Custom Audience you want to use.


Once you find and select the correct Custom Audience click Publish.
